The course opened in 1994 and is designed to offer golfers of all abilities a challenge. Set in rolling terrain, the course is built on a sizeable piece of land, meaning that most of the holes are entirely separate ensuring a safer round for you and your friends. The course also benefits from the natural free draining of sandy soil, and is one of the best naturally drained courses in Essex. This means that it is extremely rare for buggies or trollies not to be allowed round St Cleres, and it is rarer still that we would have to prevent you from playing because of a water logged course. There are a variety of holes in length and difficulty, and the course is constantly being enhanced and improved for your enjoyment. For more information about the specific holes take a look at the course map or sign up to get your free copy of the course guide. For practise we also have a 9 hole course which is an excellent tool for improving a crucial short game. It is also great fun to play and provides and excellent addition to a Society day
